WHAT WE DO

The Bank’s mission is to finance and foster trade, socio-economic development and regional economic integration through trade and development finance, funds management as well as advisory and agency services. TDB’s reputation as a strong financial solution provider in international trade and project finance is underpinned by its experience in transacting in different markets and in diverse banking practices.

Trade & Development Bank (TDB) also known as the Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank, is an African regional development financial institution established in 1985. The Bank’s mandate is to finance and foster trade, socio-economic development, and regional economic integration through trade finance, project and infrastructure finance, funds management and business advisory services.

PROJECT & INFRASTRUCTURE FINANCE

This is the medium to long term lending window of the Bank. Under this window, loans are generally structured such that they rely primarily on the project’s cash flows for repayment.

TRADE FINANCE

The Trade & Development Bank’s trade finance services are designed for entrepreneurs carrying out trade activities that drive the economies of the sub-region.

FUNDS MANAGEMENT

The CIF is a Mauritius based fund to be managed by a fund management company set up as a joint venture between TDB and an independent regional private equity manager. The ESATF is a Mauritius-based open-ended investment fund which undertakes trade finance related investments.
