Nairobi, 9 November 2023 – The Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank Group (TDB Group) on 31 October 2023 hosted a briefing breakfast for a select group of European embassies at its new green certified TDB Tower, home to TDB Group’s Regional Operations Hub.

The briefing served to sensitize European embassies on the diverse offerings of the Trade and Development Bank Group and provide a platform to explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration and partnerships between the European Union and the region, with and through TDB.

Admassu Tadesse, TDB Group President Emeritus and Managing Director, extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, providing them with a strategic overview of TDB Group’s current collaborations with institutions of European countries and of the European Union and the tangible impact that is being realized on the ground.

Indeed, for several years now, TDB Group has been working with several development finance institutions, commercial banks, export credit agencies, and other institutions – from Europe and across the globe – to finance impactful and transformational projects and transactions across all sectors. These have succeeded in creating jobs, supporting climate action, strengthening MSMEs access to finance, including for women and youth-led companies, improving health services, fostering manufacturing resilience, and building and supporting critical infrastructure, including green infrastructure, and much more.

The briefing breakfast is part of a series of outreach initiatives designed to raise awareness and identify strategic partnerships. These efforts are aligned with TDB Group’s drive towards fostering a prosperous and dynamic Africa while enhancing economic development, financial inclusion, climate action and sustainability of the region.
