Project Description:

Hydromax is a 9-MW hydro-electric power plant located in Buseruka, Hoima District, Uganda. TDB extended a loan facility to part-finance development, construction, and operation of the plant.

The project is an Independent Power Producer, with a concession of 40 years to supply power to Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL).

Impact:

Hydromax contributes significantly to the energy sector by enhancing the power supply capacity of the country. Spatial linkages to the project include improvement to the quality of life of surrounding communities as more small-scale industries will be established.
