US$ 800 MILLION SYNDICATED TERM LOAN FACILITY IS CONCLUDED FOR TDB

Ebène/Bujumbura, 26 August 2026 – The Trade and Development Bank Group (TDB Group) is pleased to announce the conclusion of a US$ 800 million syndicated term loan facility.

Proceeds of the facility will be utilised for refinancing, trade finance and general corporate purposes, enhancing the Bank’s liquidity buffers and supporting balance sheet growth, and is in support of its funding diversification strategy.

Mizuho Bank, Ltd. and Standard Bank were the Global Coordinators, while Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft acted as Facility Agent. Bookrunners and Initial Mandated Lead Arrangers (BIMLAs) included: Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB); Citibank; Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft; Emirates NBD; FirstRand Bank Limited (London Branch) acting through its Rand Merchant Bank Division; Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited London Branch (ICBC); Mashreqbank psc; Mizuho Bank, Ltd.; MUFG Bank, Ltd.; SMBC Bank International plc; Standard Chartered Bank and Standard Bank.

The facility, which follows the conclusion of a similar global syndicated loan transaction in December 2025 equivalent to approximately US$ 854.6 million, comprised 1.5-year and 3-year bullet repayment tranches. The financing signed was 1.4x oversubscribed, attracting a highly diversified group of 21 leading financial institutions across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America, and demonstrating TDB’s strong and resilient funding base.
