Maputo, 27 March 2026 – The Trade and Development Bank Group (TDB Group) announced yesterday a donation in support of flood relief efforts in Mozambique, where intense and prolonged rainfall since mid-December 2025 led to widespread flooding – severely affecting several communities across the country.

Acknowledging the urgent humanitarian crisis triggered by the disaster, and working in collaboration with Mozambique’s Ministry of Finance, TDB Group’s donation will go towards priority needs including: emergency food supplies; temporary shelters materials for displaced families; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) supplies; essential medical and health supplies; and relief items for affected households.

“In this challenging situation, we are moved to join the relief efforts of the Government of Mozambique and the donor community with a modest contribution toward community recovery and rehabilitation efforts” said Admassu Tadesse, TDB Group President and Managing Director. “

H.E. Carla Alexandra Oreste do Rosário Fernandes Loveira, Minister of Finance of the Republic of Mozambique added: “We are grateful to TDB Group for standing in solidarity with the people of Mozambique in the face of this major humanitarian emergency, through their support sanitation and hygiene (WASH) supplies, essential medical and health supplies”.
